Banyak hal menarik yang terdapat di awal perkenalan ini, salah satunya adalah alasan mereka mengapa masuk Binus. Berbeda-beda sekali jawabannya namun umumnya adalah mereka berkata bahwa ‘Katanya Binus bagus’ lalu banyak juga yang sangat menyimpang jurusannya, misalkan semasa SMA ada yang ingin masuk kedokteran tetapi tidak keterima di PTN dan akhirnya memilih binus untuk melanjutkan jenjang pendidikannya. Selain itu banyak pula yang datang jauh dari Jawa tengah, Jawa TImur, maupun daerah luar kota bahkan luar pulau sekalipun. Itulah uniknya menjadi mahasiswa, pasti banyak hal yang dapat diambil pelajaran baru seperti bertemu teman yang jauh sekali rumahnya dan kesini hanya untuk kuliah di Binus. Pelajaran lainnya yaitu belajar untuk mandiri dalam bertahan hidup jauh dari orang tua bagi yang kost disini ataupun dalam menyelesaikan suatu masalah sendiri. Diantara kegiatan GO ini banyak sekali materi-materi yang diselipkan mengenai masalah perkuliahan di Binus. Seperti kurikulum yang diterapkan, program wajib 3+1 bagi mahasiswa baru, dan masih banyak lagi. Begitupun seterusnya mengenai GO. Selanjutnya ada program Binus yang dilaksanakan guna untuk membekali mahasiswa baru dalam menembuh kuliah di Binus, yaitu AO. AO ini bertujuan untuk simulasi keadaan dalam perkuliahan sesungguhnya. AO dilaksanakan kira-kira dua minggu lamanya, setelah selesai GO tidak langsung AO tapi ada jeda untuk istirahat di rumah kira-kira sekitar satu minggu, setelah itu baru dilaksanakan AO. AO ini sudah langsung bertatap muka dengan dosen dan juga mendengarkan materinya. AO ini menjelaskan gambaran materi yang akan diajarkan selama kuliah di binus. Banyak sekali manfaat dari AO ini seperti menguatkan hati kita untuk memilih peminatan program apa yang akan kita ambil nantinya. Dan yang terakhir adalah syarat untuk sidang skripsi adalah memenuhi point SAT sebesar 120 dan jam social selama 30 jam. Maka dari itu Binus memberikan fasilitas organisasi internal. Terdapat 3 organisasi di dalam Binus, yaitu Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan, Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa, dan Komunitas. Untuk memenuhi point SAT dan jam social tersebut maka kita harus mengikuti salah satu dari HMJ, UKM, dan Komunitas. Di dalam organisasi-organisasi tersebut terdapat acara-acara atau seminar yang apabila diikuti akan mendapatkan SAT maupun jam sosial. Seperti itulah gambaran selama kegiatan FEP. Terima kasih

Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Informatika atau biasa dikenal dengan sebutan HIMTI merupakan salah satu himpunan terbesar di Binus University. HIMTI adalah sebuah himpunan yang mewadahi atau menjembatani para mahasiswa teknik informatika di kampus dalam membantu meningkatkan kemampuan hard skill maupun soft skill dan akan berguna untuk menunjang pembelajaran di kehidupan kampus. HIMTI juga merupakan suatu himpunan yang memberikan kemudahan fasilitas untuk para mahasiswa teknik informatika dalam melanjutkan karier mereka di dunia kerja, seperti memberikan daftar perusahaan yang sedang membutuhkan tenaga kerja khususnya dalam bidang IT. Tak hanya di lingkungan Binus University, kampus-kampus lain pun memiliki himpunan mahasiswa teknik informatika dengan sebutan sama yaitu HIMTI.

HIMTI di setiap kampus tersebut pun bekerjasama untuk menciptakan kesempatan yang sangat luas dalam dunia pekerjaan setelah lulus dari kampus tersebut. Tak hanya sebuah organisasi yang menaungi seluruh mahasiswa teknik informatika, tetapi himpunan yang disebut sebagai himpunan terbesar dan terbaik ini pun juga menjalin hubungan baik antar sesama himpunan maupun unit kegiatan mahasiswa lain. Untuk mendukung jalannya suatu himpunan perlu diadakan suatu gerakan yang dapat meningkatan solidaritas antar mahasiswa. HIMTI tidak tinggal diam, tentu saja segera mengambil langkah jauh kedepan. Acara pertama yang diadakan HIMTI bernama HTTP. HTTP itu sendiri singkatan dari HIMTI Togetherness and Top Performance.

Acara ini mengambil tempat di gedung BPPT jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jakarta Barat. Tujuan utama dari acara ini yaitu untuk menjalin kerjasama yang kokoh antar mahasiswa khususnya jurusan teknik informatika. Tak hanya itu, acara ini juga sebagai bentuk penyambutan kepada para mahasiswa baru di Binus University. Acara ini dimeriahi oleh para mahasiswa Binus jurusan teknik informatika dan para petinggi binus seperti Dean School of Computer Science dan para staff jajaran. Kira-kira 9-10 jam acara ini berlangsung. Dimulai dari pembukaan oleh para petinggi Binus dan ketua HIMTI baik dari cabang Binus University Anggrek maupun Binus University Alam Sutera. Setelah itu ada acara talkshow dengan mengundang alumni Binus yang telah mengembangkan sayapnya di dunia IT sesungguhnya. Banyak produk-produk yang telah dihasilkan oleh alumni Binus ini. Diantaranya adalah membuat robot yang dapat berbicara dengan manusia, lalu ada yang menciptakan aplikasi yang dapat mendeteksi kondisi atau perasaan pemakai social media tertentu.

Keduanya sangat menginspirasi para hadirin. Selanjutnya ada acara pelantikan secara simbolis kepada perwakilan jurusan yang dilantik oleh para petinggi binus diiringi dengan menyanyikan lagu mars HIMTI. Setelah pelantikan jurusan ini, para hadirin baru diperbolehkan untuk memakai almamater Binus. Uniknya adalah ketika menyanyikan lagu mars HIMTI hadirin yang datang hanya bisa pura-pura bernyanyi karena tidak tau bagaimana nadanya. Selanjutnya diantara acara ke acara diselingi dengan permainan kreatif. Dipilih secara acak dari hadirin yang di atas dan di bawah. Mereka yang terpilih disuruh untuk memainkan sebuah permainan yaitu menyabung kata secara lisan dan acak tetapi tidak boleh ada yang terlewat satupun kata yang telah disebut.

Hingga tiba untuk makan siang dan istirahat. Para hadirin dipersilakan untuk mengambil sesuai dengan pilihan ketika mendaftar yaitu pilihan antara vegetarian ataupun non vegetarian. Selain dapat makan dari panitia, para hadirin juga diperbolehkan untuk jajan di stand-stand makanan diatas. Tak hanya makanan dan minuman, tetapi alat tulis pun dijual disana. Yang berkesannya lagi kita bisa bertemu teman yang dari Binus cabang kemanggisan. Setelah makan siang dan beribadah, kami diarahkan untuk masuk ke gedung lagi untuk melanjutkan acara. Setelah itu ada pertunjukan drama dari panitia HIMTI yang berlangsung kurang lebih setengah jam lamanya. Diakhir acara penutupan disuguhkan dengan band yang tak kalah asiknya, setelah itu juga ada penampilan DJ yang sangat memecahkan suasana. Hingga tiba saatnya untuk membagikan HIMTI kit dan merchandise lainnya di pintu keluar. Acara yang sangat mengesankan sekali dan tak akan terlupakan. Terutama satu hal yang membuat terkenang selalu yaitu sudah lama sekali menunggu bis giliran alam sutera, sekalinya dapat diturunkan di Binus anggrek. Seperti ada miss communication antara panitia dan pihak bis. Sekian kesan dan pesan dari saya selama acara HTTP berlangsung, semoga kedepannya selalu ada kreatif dan inovatif yang dikembangkan.
